Escaping to Florida

In a few short hours, Mama Deb and I will be on a plane to Florida. Goodbye rainy/depressing Minnie and hello sunshine! We decided to take a quick girls trip before I start my internship next week. I can’t wait to have a little R&R with my beautiful mama. We’ll be in the Naples area for the duration of our stay and plan to veg by the pool and get our fill of the ocean. It’s been far too long since I’ve set my eyes on the endless blue of the Gulf!

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Sweet Summertime

I am officially on my last summer break ever. At this time next year, I will be graduated from college and working at my first big girl job! So weird to think about. Although it’s all too easy to get caught up in planning things that are out of my control, I’m purposefully trying to remain in the moment and enjoy every last minute of summer. Here’s what I’ll be up to!

  • Internship #3:   Who knew I would love interning so much, I’d want to do it three times? This summer I’ll be working for Jasper + Black in Minneapolis as a “Strategic Communications Intern.” I’ll be assisting with social media, photo shoots, marketing, and lots of other fun stuff!
  • Launching my Business:  Over the past year, I’ve been planning and dreaming up my photography and design business. I’ve officially booked my first Senior portrait session for this summer and will be doing some freelance design work as well. Stay tuned for the official launch! Contact me for more information.
  • The Big Move:  Come August, my family will be packing up the only house I’ve ever known and moving 8 miles down the road to our new home. We’re so excited, but I have a feeling I’ll be a hot mess come moving day!
  • MN Lake Life:  Those glorious Minnesota lakes are calling my name! My favorite part of summer is spending time at the cabin with friends and family. There’s nothing better than a day on the water with my crazy family.

Make the most of the sunshine!

A LOOK BACK AT 2012

2012 flew by with remarkable speed, and looking back, I’m thankful for all the adventures and opportunities that came my way. From traveling to Europe for the first time to landing my first internship, I took big steps this year that changed me in great ways. One year from now, I will be a college graduate and will be facing the world in a whole new way. I pray that this year will be a continual growth period, and that God will prepare me and use me in great ways. Blessings to you in the new year!

2013 Resolutions:

Farmers Market

I remember going to the Farmers Market with my mom when I was little, and I never really understood her fascination with it. Now that I’m old enough to appreciate it for all it’s glory, I wish I could frequent it every week to stock up on glorious fruits and vegetables and beautiful flowers. I’m dreaming of having an apartment downtown someday, and bopping on over to the market on saturday mornings. For now, I’ll just enjoy the abundance of fresh peaches and blueberries in the kitchen. Happy weekend!
